The execution of Soletanche projects requires the use of materials associated with CO2 emissions, such as cement, concrete, steel, and fuels. We are fully aware of the environmental impact of our operations. That is why we consistently take action to protect the environment by implementing eco-friendly solutions at every stage of project delivery – from planning to execution.

Our commitments for the world of today and tomorrow

We are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of every project and of our operations through three key actions:

Delivering assets with a positive environmental impact (clean transport, water quality improvement, energy-efficient buildings, etc.).

Leveraging technical expertise to reduce the environmental impact of investments (equipment powered by renewable energy sources or alternative fuels, low-carbon materials, optimized design options, etc.).

Implementing environmental measures on construction sites (waste segregation and recycling, recovery of raw materials and construction products, water saving, fuel consumption reduction, etc.).

Innovation for sustainable development

Our activities combine technical efficiency with respect for the environment and natural resources.

We continuously improve our foundation and geotechnical technologies and actively support the transformation of the construction sector. We develop innovative, more environmentally friendly solutions for our partners and clients, focusing on carbon footprint reduction, material optimization, and the implementation of sustainable design and execution standards.

Innovation is part of our DNA

We continuously leverage our innovation potential to improve our processes in support of environmental performance and the digitalization of construction sites.

Implementation of low-carbon materials to reduce CO₂ emissions:

EXEGY – the use of low-carbon concrete based on the Soletanche Bachy mix design.

The Soletanche Bachy laboratory also develops other innovative low-emission materials, including cement-free concrete based on activated slag.

Process optimization to reduce resource consumption:

We recover materials from soil-cement waste generated during jet grouting, reducing the need for disposal.

We use bulk AdBlue containers, reducing plastic consumption.

We have introduced decanter centrifugation technology to recover process fluids and reduce waste generation.

We apply superabsorbent dewatering systems, reducing spoil volume and the number of transport operations.

Sustainable equipment and energy management:

We use eco-fuels in construction machinery.

We carry out periodic inspections and modernization of equipment and machinery.

We monitor exhaust emissions and upgrade our vehicle fleet.

We resell used oil and scrap metal for reuse.

We implement renewable energy sources (photovoltaics and geothermal systems).

Low-carbon concrete

At Soletanche Polska, the use of low-carbon concrete is standard practice. In addition to environmental benefits, these mixes offer excellent physical properties, which are critical for geotechnical applications. In 2025, low-carbon concrete accounted for over 70% of the total concrete volume installed by our company,

Biofuels

At Soletanche Polska, we are gradually introducing HVO100 fuel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) as an environmentally friendly alternative. Tested on drilling rigs and excavators of various types, this fuel reduces CO₂ emissions by more than 90% compared to B0 diesel. One example is the construction of the new TR Warszawa headquarters, where in 2025 we used approximately 10 m³ of HVO100 fuel, which was the only type of fuel used in our operating machinery.

In situ disposal of process slurries

Our technologies use various types of slurries for the stabilization of excavations and boreholes. These can be divided into two main categories: bentonite slurries and polymer slurries. After completion of the works, each slurry is treated and disposed of using appropriately selected methods and resources. The standard method for bentonite slurry decomposition is decantation using a centrifuge. The volume of decanted slurry in 2025 amounted to 1,800 m³.

Construction material recycling

At Soletanche Polska, we carry out research and development activities focused on the recycling of resources such as cement and water. This includes, among others, studies on the reuse of spoil material from jet grouting works. Our R&D projects are conducted in cooperation with leading Polish universities. In 2025, an engineering thesis based on implementation activities from one of Soletanche Polska’s projects was defended at the Warsaw University of Technology.
